...get this over with as soon as possible and we can get on with the rest of our day.

Intimidating Shout was nerfed.

I had seen a critical bug involving the ability that caused a server crash, but it was unrelated to the decision to put a target cap on the ability.

It was the only fear AoE that had an unlimited target cap and it simply came it's time to be aligned with the other fear effects and abilities. That is pretty much the long and short of it.

You may commence flaming me or whoever you feel is responsible for this. I apologize for any confusion that I probably caused in talking about this earlier.

Q u o t e:
Now please address the rage cost and cooldown issues to similarly "align" it with the other AE fears... Is this happening?

I pressed the matter, but to no avail. AoE fears for other classes (read:Warlock, Priest) are a bit more central as an escape tool and merit shorter cooldowns.

I think the general consensus is:

Ok fine, change Intimidating Shout to only effect 5 targets, but if you're going to stick by "keeping it in line" with other AoE fear effects then reduce the Rage cost and cooldown.

May I point out that test realm patch notes are precisely that - "test"?

I'm not promising anything, mind. However, wait to see how things pan out on the test realm, and bear in mind that changes have often been made between test-realm launch and the actual implementation on a patch, based on feedback from the community as well as the development team's own assessment of the situation.

Translation: Wait for the test realm, get on it, and get your (constructive, well-written) feedback onto the forums.

Q u o t e:
Mage got their area root (frost nova) unlimited to targets, Pallain got their immue bubble unlimited to attacks/ damages too.

Unlimited fear may or may not imbalance, but saying "Because there are no other classes have ability like this, so you shouldn't get it too" is not convincable enough to me.

For the sake of academia, let's remember that Divine Shield and Frost Nova don't cause opponents to lose control of their characters. An unlimited-target AOE fear can cause several (AB, world PvP), dozens (AV), or even hundreds (Ahn'Qiraj gate opening, anyone?) of players to lose control of their characters, and it's important to keep that imbalance in mind.

Explain Wrath please. Because I guess a 100+ page thread and several 30+ page threads don't constitute feedback from the community.

I don't believe you T. I "bet" there was no server crash problem. I think you where looking through all the posibilities and found something you felt you could justify. Nice try. Your still a mage loving finger wiggler.

There are some very constructive posts in this thread the CM's look right by.

Those are the ones I thought i'd see replies too

We're catching them.

Don't presume that the lack of a response doesn't mean that we haven't sent it off to the people who can make a difference. ;)

   Height,

As I said, I cannot (and am not trying to) make any promises regarding the Test realm. I was simply giving the poster an "out," a constructive way to make sure his ideas get the highest probability of being heard, and reminding him that changes between Test and Live are not unprecedented.

I would encourage you to wait for the Test realm before you decide that this is a life-changing situation. (I myself am mourning the loss of the AV-fearbomb, trust me - I completely agree with you on the aspect of fun for the warrior that the ability brings to the table.) I think you'll find that the changes, overall, do not impact you as often as you may be thinking they will.
