Subject: Tactical Mastery is not a talent to me ...
I just hit 60 like a month ago ... i recently hit 5200hp 376 defense and love my warrior. I try various spec already but i quickly realize one thing .... Tactical Mastery is not an option ... its a must. PvP or PvE wise you cant live without it. Seriousky Blizzard can a warrior be consider balance by not spending 10 point in arm for TM ?

Seriously tell me an other class that lose all is "mana / energy" in order to switch from let say fire spell to ice spell ? IMO a talent should be an option ... some option are better that other obviously but it should never be a MUST. I try to play without it and OMFG it was a real nightmare ...

Is It me or that thing shouldnt be a talent ? i mean im stuck spending 10 point in arm cause Warrior CANT survive without it in PvP. Its impossible. Why not simply buy it as an passif ability with 5 rank ?

Blizzard ... i challenge you guy to play a lv 60 Warrior on a PvP server without TM and try it for a few week ...

Tactical Mastery is not a talent to me ... a talent should be an option and TM is a MUST not an option. Well you can play without it if you like to play with only 50% of your ability ....

Mages say the same thing about Improved Arcane Explosion. They claim that without the talent, the spell is useless, therefore make Arcane Explosion an instant-cast spell.

While I will admit that the talent is really, really useful, to say it should be a core ability may be a little extreme. The devs might be a tad steadfast in their categorization of this as a talent. Of course, all things are subject to change...

Q u o t e:
I thought we were moving past these class to class comparisons? The usability of a spell that's improved by talents (not just IAE) and tacticial mastery are nowhere near the same sort of issue. Please refrain from such comments, as they don't further conversation, except for more class to class comparisons.

Also, it would be helpful to know if these are just things you think the devs will say, or answers you're getting from devs themselves.

ps. IMO tactical mastery is required. I'm currently leveling up a warrior, and just respecced due to my thinking that I could get by without it for quite a while. It's just something you HAVE to have. My suggestion would be that switching stances leaves 15 rage to work with, and that tactical mastery improve that by 5 for each rank.

I'm not making a comparison of class-to-class. I am making a comparison of player perception and what is driven by the community as mandated playstyle. The OP is making the claim that a certain playstyle should be supported and enforced by core class mechanics.

Switching stances is necessary as a warrior. Absolutely. That's why there are different stances, with different abilities behind them. To say that TM should be a basic, trainable ability dramatically narrows the gap between using an ability from one stance in succession with one from another. Following that logic, why not just cram all of the abilities into one stance?

Frequent stance switching is a style of play that, while popular with many, should not be considered the only way to play. It is because of this distinction that TM is a talent and not a core ability. Rage loss/decay is something to be managed and considered. To make TM non-talented brings the warrior closer to trivializing this aspect of game mechanics.
