So, I'm a warrior going for the cookie cutter MS template (I know, shoot me) and I was wondering which two hand weapon was the best for the template: Axes, Polearms, Maces, or Swords?
Axes = +5% critical
Polearms = +5% critical
Maces = +5% Stun?
Swords = +6% DOUBLE ATTACK.
I'm looking at whats best to grind. I'm looking at what is most beneficial at 60, and the best for what I play as. I'm playing to be an okay pvper, not crappy, but not "uber" if anyone could pin-point that to a certain type of weapon I might be using (axes - arcanite reaper, other stuff?) And I doubt i'm going to be pvping and getting high ranks, so pvp ranked items are automatically excluded.

If you are an orc, I might go axes for the racial bonus and there are a fair number of quality axes, 1 or 2 hand, throughout the game.

Q u o t e: However, I think you may not be completely correct on this one, Tseric. Most warriors, both alliance and horde, still go for the arcanite reaper, and hope one day for a Spinal... even if their racial skills don't call for it. Since sword spec is being nerfed to 5% chance to proc now... and it doesn't stack with any stats or items other than the Hand of Justice...
However, it is extremely good that mace specs are getting their diminishing returns removed. I may just spec for my earthshaker in the future.
Don't disagree, but the guy's trying to level from 20. I wouldn't be focusing on Spinal, yet. He's always got the opportunity to re-tune talents down the road. As it stands, I still think he should milk the weapon skill bonus for what it's worth in the early levels. Besides...an orc warrior is complemented with an axe. Very lore-like :P[ post edited by Tseric ]

Q u o t e: Yes exactly = )
If my last post was unclear... I can lay it out like this:
Polearm Spec: 5% crit. There are only 2H polearms.
Axe Spec: 5% crit. Lower in the tree than polearm spec, allowing for the improved hamstring talent. Applies to 1H and 2H Axes.
This seems off balance.
Both of the arms talents for these weapons are off to the side and not essential to arms tree development. Polearms are a rarer and more specialized weapon. Having the axe talent more accessible (costing fewer talent points) is preferable, as axes are more commonly found than polearms. Spec'ing for polearm may cost more, but the fact that it is solely a 2h weapon class makes damage greater in general, and crits better specifically.
I guess what I'm saying is, a potential 1h/2h crit is valued less than a solely 2h crit, talent-wise.
