Q u o t e: From Bellathor
Since you're the only CM that I know that plays a warrior (and has spoken about it occassionally), can you give us your honest opinion of the "new" warrior coming next patch, especially in regards to PVP (battlegrounds and the soon-to-be PVP system). I feel the warrior is an excellent instance tank, but is still severely lacking in solo/pvp play.
Thanks for your time...

Ordinn said if we moved the thread here, he would 'jump into the discussion.' So, please do. :)[ post edited by Cogsfellow ]
Q u o t e: Please do not post in all crap.

One thing at a time guys. First - new changes coming next patch.
I personally feel that the fix we made to rage generation is the biggest change. I'm a PvP junky, so I'm Arms up to Mortal Strike, Fury for the extra crits, and some Protection sprinkled in. With the new rage gen you'll be able to use your ablilities much more frequently. Mortal Strike. The damage plus the decrease in healing is fantastic. Put me close to someone in PvP and they will go down, fast. Which brings me to:
Stance switching is the key to PvP. The more rage gen, the more you switch your stance, especially if you have Tactical Mastery. I'm constantly switching from Battle to Berzerker in PvP. Pesky casters fall quick when you can switch back and forth to use Intercept without worrying about rage .

Q u o t e: Overall, I think that our PVP issues resume to:
1- Our "typical" gear does not include enough resists
2- Our AoE attacks don't hit shaman totems
3- Slow and Root affects us to an extensive degree (rendering us useless since most have issue raising our gun and bow skill) The other one that's deep in this is the rogue, but, they have Vanish that helps in that case. We have simply nothing to do here.
4- Our bow / gun skill has a +1 second... Why ? we don't have anything else to denfend ourselves when rooted / slowed
5- Rogues and stuns...
6- Lacks of great resists on typical shields (Hiding behing a shield should really boost more than our melee defence)
1. I'm a huge fan of potions. In addition, we add new items and armor every patch. Dire Maul alone has hundreds of new items...
2. I love killing Shamans.
3. You can overcome this with equipment. I'm also a Gnome Warrior, specifically for Escape Artist.
4. Intercept. I only use ranged to pull in PvE. It's just not worth it in PvP imho.
5. I see your point and I'll pass it along.

Q u o t e: So if someone is dumb enough not to root you, snare you, freeze you you can win?
Sorry I'm so slow in responding to these.
I play a Gnome, so I have Escape Artist. Also, there is equipment that will break snares. Ornate Mithril boots, for example.

Q u o t e: Maybe it's just me, but all i saw was use Intercept against casters and we should have been gnomes for escaping trait. More rage generation was already stated in the patch notes. I'm sure what the majority of us want to know is what our role will be in Battlegrounds, why we need potions to have any success against snares, what's the staus on Thunderclap and Heroic Strike...because from what i hear there hardly is any improvement, maybe just a little for TC but HS is still a waste of time. I appreciate his reply and all, but the important and repetetive questions weren't answered.
Please remember that I am not a developer, and you all asked my opinion.

Q u o t e: I always thought he was a Dwarf paladin before this thread.
I was a Dwarf Pally in Beta. My main is a Warrior now. I also have a Mage and a Priest.

Q u o t e: yo ordinn how bout us prot. spec warriors. when do we get some love for pvp. Obviously I don't expect to out dps a arms/fury warrior but def. spec. lose alot of abilites like impale and wep. spec. going full def.
Maybe some more def. bonuses?, some resistances?
Sorry - I'm just giving my opinions from my own experience playing a warrior. I never went full Protection.

Q u o t e: I apologize if i sounded threatening, but it's rare we ever get a blue response so for those occasional times that we have one present, I'd like to know what your opinion is on the Improved Thunderclap and heroic Strike after patch?
np - honestly I only used Mortal Strike on the test realms so I can't comment on HS. Same with Thunderclap.
You guys may want to see if you can get in:

Q u o t e:
Is Heroic Strike worth it now for a non-MS Warrior?
Thanks
Yes.
About the ranged. I'm up in the air with this one. I think I was pretty effective in PvP before the upcoming changes, and I think I'm going to be a rolling gnomeball of destruction after the patch. Every class has its plusses and minuses, and I think if Warriors could deal significant ranged damage we'd be, sigh, dare I? - overpowered. Once again - this is just my opinion. I'm not sure what the devs think on this.

Q u o t e: Ordinn,
I want to hear your opinion on some things, since this is what this thread is about.
Have you played your warrior with a 31 or 30 point protection or fury spec?
What are your favorite warrior talents? for pve and pvp? Why?
What are your favorite abilities? Why?
Do you think the top talents in protection and fury are as beneficial as the top talents in arms?
These are just some basic questions, I hope you time to answer.
First off - nice usage of BML.
1. No - sorry.
2. Talents - Mortal Strike. I have some xp with Concussion Blow, but I just respected out of it. Tac Mastery. Improved Overpower. I think its worth putting 5 in Cruelty.
3. Charge. Rend. All the Shouts. Execute - I win button in PvP. Retaliation when I'm in a tough spot.
4. I don't have exerience with them, so I don't want to comment on them, sorry.

Q u o t e: No Offense, but I'd like to see some vids of your rolling gnomeball of destruction before I'm convinced of these new changes.
I understand your skepticism. Don't think I'm comfortable showing video of my main to a few hundred thousand players.
