A revamp to the affliction tree, one so that warlocks would have a true raid spec, such as warriors have have protection, rogues who have combat, priests who have holy, and so forth. Warlocks are currently a damage class in pve, what they should be is a debuff class in pve. I believe mages should have higher damage than warlocks, but I think warlocks should make up for it by providing more valuable debuffs in raid environments.

Q u o t e: The simple answer would be to give warlocks' debuffs a large priority.
Warlock curses that benefit the group, such as CoE, CoR, CoS, etc. should have this priority as of 1.11. A great deal of de/buffs have been assigned values and more will come.
I realize it has been a long standing opinion of the warlock community that affliction needs more work than the other trees. But, to what end? It seems that a lot of players look at it from the perspective of end-game play. Affliction lends itself better to a leveling build. Why should it be completely revamped into a group/raid build?
This is not to say that changes aren't being looked into. When I last discussed this matter with the devs, they were very much interested in giving more attention to warlock talents, affliction in particular.
The question I'm asking is, why aim those changes towards buffing lvl 60 group play alone?
Let's say, for sake of argument, that the Demo tree is the PvE tree and the Destro tree is the PvP tree and the Affliction tree is the leveling tree. What sort of changes in affliction would serve that purpose, rather than just trying to buff the end-game?[ post edited by Tseric ]

Q u o t e: He said for the sake of argument. Just try to answer him in the context of his question.
Thanks for that. I didn't want to be the one that said it. ;)
