Guys, I returned Wednesday of last week and posted that I'd like to get things moving in regards to communication. I stated that I planned to meet with the designers over the next few days to begin discussion of the review. I requested for the community to reply with their major concerns and questions before I engaged in discussion with members of the class team.
But then Monday came, and several players began linking to a post made by a European Community Manager, which simply detailed player's own feedback. The reaction said post had upon the North American community forced me to write:
"Player feedback concerning the Shaman review has been gathered in North America, Europe and Korea -- and it's been been offered to the Class Design team. It's doubtful that any additional changes will be made to the Shaman before the patch is live on the realms, but we will certainly be discussing your feedback and watching closely how the specifics of the incorporated changes play out.
Once I'm able to discuss the feedback you've provided in greater detail with the Design team, I'll be sure and share with you their response."
That's not the response that I would've liked to have followed my "Lets Get Things Moving" post, as I've been working on a message based upon feedback gathered from players in various regions. However, a message of some sort had to be offered that day. Unfortunately, posts such as that one can be freely given; whereas the one I'm working on which provides information from the design team takes time, and must pass many levels of approval and be coordinated properly with each region.
I was out for nearly 20 days, and I've been back just over a week (six days, if you exclude the weekend). I've more on my plate than simply the Shaman review, as do the designers and all of those that I depend upon when crafting messages of certain importance.
If you believe that I've failed as a Community Manager, Human Being or both that's fine, none of this is new to me, and this is mild in comparison to what players have said to me in the past, trust me on this one. But don't post it on our boards, email your thoughts to wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com. The forum moderators have been instructed to handle attacks made against me very seriously. It's inappropriate on many levels and highly disruptive to our community.
In closing, when I'm able to provide more information concerning the review, I'll do so. It's not a decision that I alone make.
