Well rogues this is what he had to say.

--------------------------------------------------
I don't see the word "raid" in that post at all, and thus I fail to see how I'm being hypocritical. While there are some people who do nothing but raid, there is more to this game than raiding. Even then, as an example, my Rogue does crowd control in Zul'Gurub -- and yes, alongside Mages and Druids.

When designing encounters and PvP areas, they strongly consider every class's abilities -- Rogues included. Lockpicking is an asset in Dire Maul, as an example, if you're doing a tribute run; don't want to kill a guard to get the door key? Grab a Rogue as one of your five and you won't have that problem. Need someone to grab Father Flame in UBRS? Get a Rogue who knows what he's doing and you won't have to clear any eggs. (Yes, I know these aren't "endgame", but they're high-level areas that utilize Rogue abilities.) It's considered all the time, but at the same time, you don't want to completely cripple a group if they don't have a Rogue... which is what would happen for a vast majority of potential stealth-related tasks.

You are also comparing two different-styled classes. Paladins are a "hybrid-like" class, and their talent trees emphasize some fairly different ability sets. Rogues are a more specialized class, as seen in their talents, which are focused on dealing damage in different ways.

I suppose I'm asking... what would you want to be doing instead of stabbing/bashing something to death as a Rogue? Not in addition to, mind, but instead. No, Rogues don't have much wiggling room in terms of DPS; it's a very specialized class. The complaints of class role primarily come from the classes designed with more versatility, wishing to do something else instead of the role in which they're supposedly forced by their peers. Therefore, if you don't want your role to be DPS, what do you want it to be?

I am not going to claim one class is designed to be "king of DPS" on these forums. However much one class would be vindicated, the other DPS-oriented classes would throw a fit, and the honest truth is that it's all situational.
--------------------------------------------------

Well just wanted you all to see it Incase you did not read it over there.

It does not make me happy.

Maybe someday we will get fixed.

I really dont see how or why other class's would throw a fit over who does more DPS, There are 3 types of Real DPS, Range, Melee, and Spells. And you can mix and match them anyway you want.

But We Rogues Should be THE ONLY MELEE DPS kings !

But thats just me.

Then he asked what roll we want! I want to be an assassin ! ONE HIT YOUR DEAD ! Oh thats right I cant pick a DPS roll.

How about CC? We can keep mobs sapped, more then one maybe with Imp Sap for each pt you can keep another mob Sapped even when the mob is in combat.

How about Some more Ideas from the Rogue's Lets hear them. What else would you like to do other then DPS?

I said that I wasn't going to crown any one class king of DPS on these boards. The resulting stink would far outweigh the vindication of said class. Obviously the fact that you have to be in melee range and wear leather armor is taken into consideration when determining average DPS.

If you're going to argue about what I said, argue about what I said, not what you think I was implying. ;)

Well then I'm sure you can see that our DPS is in need of some serious help, ASAP.

Nope.

The developers are still largely happy with where the Rogue sits at the moment in terms of DPS.

The developers know your thoughts on the class and how you feel on the subject, but they're allowed to say "no" when your requests are passed along.

Also, Tyren is not your representative, as there are no class representatives. I'm sorry if I'm not telling you what you want to hear, but that is an unfortunate part of my job. :P

I can't stand this. I go to every other class forum and it's nothing but politeness and professionalism. It's "Hey guys! Just checking in. We're working hard on your class. Here is a list of all the great changes you can expect forthcoming! "

And I come to the rogue forums and it's little snobby, snot nosed, curt little one liners devoid of professionalism. It's obvious that he thinks that rogues are the class asking for too much atm, and he almost reveals in telling us that the answer is "no". This is just wrong. This is so disheartening and it makes me feel hopeless. I want to be hearing the same things on our forums that all the other classes are hearing. That's not too much to ask. We want to know people are keeping an eye on us for once. We want to hear about the concerns devs have with the class.

Stop insulting us. We've had enough.

This isn't an insult, and I'm sorry if you feel my comments are too blunt. I can fluff them up a bit, if you prefer.

How about..

"Hey everyone! I've spoken with the developers regarding your detailed feedback on the Rogue class and how it operates in the end game. At this time, the class designers are pleased overall with where the Rogue class sits on the damage scale, and there are no plans at this time to make changes to the damage output of the class. The developers will take a close look at the Rogue when their time for review comes up, but that will not be for some time."

I said nothing new up there; there are just more words. I'm levelling with you as easily as I can as a level 60 Rogue that PvPs and raids BWL. This is the situation. I know you don't want to hear that it's the situation, but that doesn't change the reality of the matter.

If you'd prefer me to fluff up my posts as I demonstrated above, I can go to that, but we've been pretty straight with every single class we've spoken to.
