Subject: Drysc: Why Vanish should cancel Farie Fire...

Q u o t e:
It will only apply to abilities that are specifically used to allow the caster to remain aware of the target. I'm only aware of Hunter's Mark and Mind Vision being applicable to the requirement, but there may be more. Any damaging spells would not fall into this category.

I have seen a few posts, generally from people that are playing a hunter, exclaim that Hunter's Mark specifically states it is to be used to keep track of targets restealthing. This is absolutely true; however, Vanish is a separate ability from Stealth and vanishing is not synonymous with stealthing regardless of the end result.

The latter half of your statement having to do with vanish being a seperate ability from Stealth regardless of the end result is exactly why Farie Fire should be removed when vanish is used also.

I'm quoting Drysc from his recent response to the thread http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-rogue&t=1289248&s=blizzard&tmp=1#blizzard

It's been said, I'm just quoting it.

I think you're splitting hairs a bit there, attempting to turn my words around on me and such. That's fine, I'm wrong, whatever, just know that vanish is not going to remove Faerie Fire.

Q u o t e:
No, Drysc, we are not splitting hairs. We are taking exactly what you said, with all of its meaning and context, and asking you a simple question. And you pulled the classic cornered-animal retort, simply turning the argument against us as if what we're asking is extravagant.

How about you exemplify a little maturity and responsibility and admit that what you said was, well, wrong?

You're attempting to prove me 'wrong' so you can gain an insignificant and unimportant leg up on me, if you want it, fine. My belly is exposed, tear in. It grants you nothing to prove my example wrong, the mechanics of the game do not change due to a statement I made regarding a separate ability being proven untrue when taken into a different context.

If you want me to say I was wrong, I will, but that doesn't change the way the ability is going to work.

We are building a forum of extraordinary magnitude.
