Hi there.
I've not tried being a tester before, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
Recently I tried to copy across my mage toon, and got the normal success message:

Superb, I then try and log in. No joy, it dumps me back out (disconnected by server). I get my wife to log in, works flawlessly. I decide to copy another character across, I get the same success message, and this one can log in.
So, just the one character works, but the one I want to test is broken. I've written to the email address supplied on Blizzard's message (above) and they've suggested that they can't help, and that this is in some way the sort of thing I should have expected for being a tester. For sure, I remember the can't-log-in old day times of the initial retail launch, but this is ridiculous :)
What I was hoping they'd do is reset that character or whatever and make it so that it could login. I doubt very much it's a client-side issue, as my wife's account works on the same machine, as does an alt; this character is "teh br0k3N!!1!" on the test realm. However, Blizzard are adamant that this forum is where I need to raise these issues to get support, and that a qualified support person will be able to help me here.
Anyway, can anyone help with this problem? I'm pretty sure it means that some dude at Blizzard is actually going to have to log into a server somewhere and do some work to fix this, there's no magical client-side fix I can apply, but it'd be nice to get that confirmed.

There was an issue where characters copied on Friday 8/19/05 at approximately 11:30am PDT were being immediately disconnected from the server opon logging in. That issue should be fixed. If you copied your character at a different time than listed above and are getting disconnected immediately following the loading screen, please try again after the test real maintenance. If the problems persist, post your concerns here.
