Subject: Bliz, Client crashes at any given time...
I have logged onto test several times, disabled addon's submitted the error reports. Nothing has been noted about the clients tendancy to crash frequently. Originally I thought it was the amount of people in IF, then I was told it was being in a raid. I have experienced crashes with no link to any of these (altho getting out of IF seemed to lessen the crashes).

So will blizzard please give some explanation as to what is causing the crashes?

Classic.

It's probably preferable to "something wrong with your machine." i.e. I meant to indicate that we are actively investigating the cause behind crashes in the test client, and we accept the fact that the PTR version has bugs of our own making.

A unique value of PTR players is that they are able to find bugs which do not happen frequently enough in an internal test environment to be caught or reproduced effectively, due to strength in numbers.

BTW that "send to Blizzard" button on the crash reporter is very helpful. It gives us a way to gauge the relative frequency of bugs and severity. We have some automated processes now that give us a kind of "top 10 list" by churning through the logs that are submitted each day, giving us a way to quickly set priorities for fixes.

Two of the higher freq bugs we are looking at are of course the "obj" assertion and the faulty memory access at 0x630859(on Windows, Mac client has the same bug at a different address, usually 0x0029e578 / 0x29e5bc).

That send error thing doesn't work. Everytime I've used it since January it says, "Cannot connect to server."

The error-listener server hasn't had 100% uptime but it has had some recent changes to improve its availability. We have had a very healthy volume of reports flowing today from PTR, all day long, so at the present time there doesn't seem to be a major blockage at our end.

If you can never get it to work that's OK, I still encourage everyone to try to "Send" if and when they see it, and if it doesn't work, don't sweat it.
