Subject: 1.12 and Multiple Core processors
Looks like 1.12 comes with some stuff for dual core users. Try posting stuff that you seen fixed and stuff that isn't in this thread.

System:
Athlon 64 3800+
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
1x 7800GT @ 91.31
Windows XP Pro

Fixed:
64 fps cap removed
vsync no longer ignored

Semi-fixed:
Body no longer stuck. It does a robotic motion to face the direction the head is facing.

Giving this thread a bump to get some attention. If you're still getting capped or getting abnormal performance, please post your specs to the fullest so it can be sent to the right people for investigation.

Yes, there is new timing code in 5561 that deals with the timing precision issues posed by dual core processors under Windows.

There is also a fix for the in game FPS meter, which would previously cap at a displayed value of 100.0 FPS or so even if the game was actually hitting higher rates.

Q u o t e:
Would these changes be the cause of single processor systems to be hic-uping every 15-30 seconds since the last patch?

That's unlikely, as the changes described are not in Live (1.11.2) yet - they are only in the beta of 1.12.0 now on PTR (test realm).

Q u o t e:
Any chance of pushing the dual core fix live before 1.12?

Based on the way our update process works, it is very unlikely we would be able to do this. As with many other new features in 1.12, it only makes sense for us to give it a proper airing on the test realms, monitor user feedback for any problems, and monitor submitted error reports to be more confident of its correctness - and this process takes time and effort. It could be bad if we were to short-cut that cycle to rush this one improvement to market - though we understand the desire to get it out as soon as possible.

This change would be part of 1.12 when it goes live, correct?

Yes; unless we find a problem with it sever enough to warrant postponing it. Haven't seen any evidence of such problems yet.

Anyone with the latest PTR experiencing this issue? (64 fps back, robotic turning, etc)
