As specifically stated before by the community management team it was strictly hardware maintenance.
It's too late to change gear for this patch since many pirate...rrr players have already created characters. I'm going to discuss it with the people in charge and let them know the players concerns about the lack of PvP gear on future patches with PvP content. Our ultimate goal, after all, is to catch bugs while resembling a live server as much as possible with all it's diversity.
For now, everyone has the same type of gear so PvP limitations should be even.

I mean "on each side". Both sides should have the same gear for their respective classes. So a horde priest should be roughly the same as an alliance priest. If this is not the case then by all means please let us know.
