The Alterac Valley Battleground has been disabled in order to gather more feedback on the Warsong Gulch Battleground.
Alterac Valley will be re-enabled this weekend.
We'd like to thank you all for helping us test Battlegrounds. We are already implementing new features (the join as group feature, which will allow players to enter battlegrounds in a pre-made group) and changes based on your testing and feedback.[ post edited by motive ]

My apologies for the lack of updates on this topic, we are all returning from E3 today.
Due to many planned changes to Alterac Valley that will go live with the next Public Test Realm patch, we have opted to keep the zone offline for a slightly longer period of time than was previously expected and announced.
We will be ready to release these changes in the very near future, but our current plan is for Alterac Valley to remain offline until these changes have been made. Please stay tuned to these forums for a list of changes that will be included in this upcoming patch as wall as any potential changes to this plan.
