Well, I posted this in Customer Service, believing it not have to do with the PTR itself, but rather with my home server, but it was suggested I repost here, so in the hopes of reply:
As you are most likely aware, on tuesday 5 servers were migrated to new hardware, my server included.
The problem is, that due to a synching error or a database issue of some kind, we cannot transfer characters from our realm to the PTR currently, it simply says that we have no characters on Cenarius to transfer.
This is a significant testing issue, as we head a raid force that has killed Anub'rekhan and we wish to continue to work on other content, however we are unable to transfer mules over that have much needed consumables and materials that will allow us to more accurately recreate a "real" play environment. For example, most top end guilds would not try out new content without providing Flask of the Titans to their main tank, however we currently are without such a commonly accepted convenience.
If we cannot make a character transfer on a near (24h or so) ETA, would it be too much to ask to have a GM provide our raid group with a small portion of the materials we were attempting to transfer? Part of the issue is that this is a multi guild coalition from our server that spans both horde and alliance players. Due to the fact that the organizer is on alliance side, all of the horde players present must use premade characters which have no gear swapouts for alternate roles, and no resistance gear whatsoever. We intend to make some attempts on the Widow soon, but from all info currently gathered, it would be utter suicide without significant Fire Resist on our raiders.
As you can see, this is a complicated issue, and one that impacts the short term development of game content, so any help would be appreciated, thank you.[ post edited by Ebonclaw ]
