Hello everyone thanks for visiting the Test Realm Forums,
Test Realm Purpose
First and foremost, the Test Realms are a tool used by the QA team to accomplish our task of eliminating bugs from World of Warcraft. There is no substitute to testing in a real-world environment and that means we need a server with players on it. We need players logging in and out, we need players using the chat channels, posting auctions, submitting GM petitions and all the other things people do every day on the live realms. Simply playing on the Test Realms contributes to this goal, even if youre not posting bugs.
The secondary purpose of the Test Realms is to allow players to report possible bugs. We appreciate the assistance of the players who report issues, and we take the time to investigate every report we receive.
Test Realm and Forum Moderation
As the Test Realms are primarily a tool for the QA team, they are not subject to the same formalities as the live realms. The servers will go down without notice, and they will stay down for lengthy periods of time. The Test Realms do not have normal GM support and petitions are not looked at by customer service reps. That does not mean the servers have no moderation, everyone on the QA team has authority to take action if players are acting inappropriately, we can remove your posting privileges on the forums and we can remove you from the test realms permanently. Using the Test Realms and Forums is a privilege not a right. If you do not follow the terms of service your privileges will be revoked.
