Subject: Test Realms Re-Open for Business! Patch 1.5.0
Welcome to the new phase of the Public Test Realms. The current version of the team realms is now version 0.5.0 in preparation for a release of patch 1.5.0 to the public in the near future. Along with the extensive list of changes and bug fixes in the patch notes, this patch introduces the long awaited two new Battlegrounds maps:

Alterac Valley 40 v 40 Battleground (Entrances located in the Hillsbrad Foothills)
Warsong Gultch 10 v 10 CTF Battleground (Entrances located in Northern Barrens / Southern Ashenvale)

For this phase of the test realm, we will continue to use the Character Copy and Split Patch technology that we used during the previous patch. The only difference this time around is that there is a limit of two (2) character copies per account, so please be sure to copy over the characters that you really want to be playing with.

There are now two possible methods of getting your build ready to test on the Public Test Realms:

1. If you participated in the patch 1.4.0 Test Realm phase, if you did not delete the WoWTest directory from your WoW directory after copying your characters over to the Test Realms again, you WILL NOT need to download the patch that is available on the website. If you launch WoWTest.exe and connect to the servers, you will download a new patch that will take you up to the newest version of the Public Test Realm.

2. If you are new to the Public Test Realm or you have uninstalled the WoWTest directory, then you will need to download the new patch provided on the Character Copy web page after you have successfully copied over a character. This patch will split your client into having both the retail version and the test realm version installed at the same time, with two separate executables.

Feel free to post any questions you have on the process in this thread.

Enjoy testing the Battlegrounds and stay tuned to the forums for updates and possibly information on scheduled tests. The servers will be made available within the next few hours.

Q u o t e:
Will we be getting a chance to have high level, well equipped characters like the euros?

At the moment no, US players will use their own copied characters only.

Q u o t e:
What kind of ctf rules is it?

Willw e just run in and touch it or "use" it, or will we have to run it back to our base? If so, touch return flag (booo) or will it stay and the enemy have to defend it till it returns (best rules)?

The latter. (Best rules =)

Q u o t e:
What is the min/max level for both of them?

Alterac Valley will have a level range of 51-60.

Warsong Gultch will have a level range of 21-60 but will create instances on a 10-level range scale.

In other words, characters between levels 21 and 30 will be matched up with each other, characters between 31 and 40 will be matched up with each other, and so on up to 60.
