As per the subject, hitting alt-tab while in full-screen mode does not switch out of WOW. Hitting alt-tab while in windowed mode works as expected.
Running OS X 10.4.6 on a 20 inch last-gen PowerPC iMac.

We had discussed changing this, but there's a subtle problem. The root issue is that OSX does not have a facility for yanking control of the screen away from the application (short of outright force-quit)
1. When in full screen, keys aren't always passed through to the OS, but we do have the latitude to do our own response to certain key combos if we want. OK, cool..
2. Alt-Tab is the well known Windows key for popping out of
fullscreen, the conventional key on OSX for task switching is Command-Tab. Little difference.
3. If we recode the game to treat Alt-Tab to mean "pop to windowed mode", then it is an oddity compared to Command-Tab; it's somewhat out of place / inconsistent. Minor issue, but we could do it that way.
4. If we pick Command-Tab to fill that role, it's nice and consistent with the OSX conventions, however we run the risk of causing sudden surprise behavior for people who are playing on a one button mouse, using Command to do right clicks, and who hit Tab to do tab-targeting... they won't be happy if the game sees "Command Tab" and flips screen modes on them in the middle of combat.
5. Just pointing this out for completeness, Command-M has always been the fullscreen/windowed toggle for Blizzard's Mac titles. As in, "let me see the Menu Bar".
What if we added another keybinding on the Mac client for "toggle fullscreen" and let you bind it to whatever you like? Or do you really need that added oomph of "go to windowed mode and hide the app" in a single action?
