Why wasn't the background downloader made available tonight so we could start downloading the patch ahead of time?
We would have loved to test it for y'all tonight.

BG Downloader exists and underwent some testing during 1.10 PTR but is not yet in a final state ready for full time use. This is fancy phrasing for "I don't think it has everything in it that we want and gotten sign-off by internal QA yet".

That's really not what I meant, BG Downloader is still in development, and as such hasn't reached a production mode yet. There's no slam intended or implied by this w/r/t the QA team. I think BG Downloader will be put into service before 1.11 if all goes well with the rest of our testing.

Well, the word 'blame' appeared and that has some negative connotations. Observation of the current level of progress isn't 'blame'. :)
