Spell resists cost 230 on this. Spell penetration costs 230.
Spell resists provide a mitigating defensive bonus vs. one school - at most you're getting the bonus vs two classes.
Spell Penetration, for the same cost, provides you with an offensive bonus as great against every class.
And, for some reason, even though the WSG trinket only has a high enough value to support 14 spell penetration, Blizzard just decided to stick 6 more on there, for free.
Note that I think penetration wouldn't be overpowered if the offensive bonus was conditional - it only worked if the person had those resistances (no vulnerability bonuses). But in its current state, it simply costs far, far too little.
And stop arguing that the constant bonus of the WSG trinkets really isn't better than the activated bonus of higher ilevel epic trinkets - that's a horrible argument, and if I actually have to explain why, you're stupid.
