Has anyone ever finished the Arathi Basin quests before they turned level 60?
I've had the "Race for Resources" quest (where you have to obtain 3 AB marks of honor) since level 20, and have signed up to go the the AB Battlegrounds almost daily since I was level 24. I have never, ever gotten into the AB Battlegrounds.
I've had the other AB quest (where you have to assult each of 4 resource nodes in AB) since level 35, and have signed up to go the the AB Battlegrounds almost daily. I have never, ever gotten into the AB Battlegrounds.
I'm on the Hyjal server, whose population is so high that it frequently has problems with server lag -- so I don't know what the deal is here. Does nobody ever want to bother playing in Arathi Basin before they hit Level 60? Is everybody that obsessed with Warsong Gulch that they've forgotten there are two other PvP battlegrounds out there?
What's the secret of knocking these quests off? They've both gone Gray for me long ago, despite my best efforts in signing up for the AB queue and waiting for hours in the hopes of getting called up.

I believe that quest is banded is just like the Battleground itself. If the quest has grayed out to you, abandon it (assuming you have no progress made on it) and re-aquire it from the NPC's out front of the Battleground. You should receive a more level appropriate version of it that will yield better quest exp should you complete it.
For the record, those quests are very feasible to complete. It's more difficult for people to get into Battlegrounds on a PvE server. PvP servers generally have more BG's running at any one time. This isn't surprising, considering people on PvP servers are generally (yes I am speaking in general terms) more interested in engaging in PvP.
On a PvP server low to mid level BG's are very common. The trinket alone is good incentive for most.
