Subject: Prayer of Healing Discussion
I have been experimenting with Prayer of Healing and would like some input from my fellow priests on the topic.

For reference, I have found a healing efficiency breakdown for both shadow and holy priests at http://wow.whispre.com/files/priest_guide_v1.0.htm#_Toc97535332

It uses numbers for level 60, but the same principles can be applied at lower levels.

I am pondering the following:

1) Let's say you have three members at half health or less. You don't have time to greater heal everyone. Are you better off, threat-wise, throwing up two PW:S and doing a greater heal on the squishiest member, followed by the next two, or using PoH and healing everyone at once?

2) Let's say you are all taking damage from an AOE and all five of you are above half health but below 2/3. What's the best way to handle this?

I'm sure there are more instances where PoH could be useful. Any ideas?

For the first question, I would use Prayer of Healing, hit Fade, and then Flash Heal the members if we were still in the thick of combat. If it was towards the end of the fight, I might cast another Prayer of Healing to reduce downtime after the fight. The only time I would Power Word: Shield is if one of the members was about to die, I would shield them and then cast Prayer of Healing.

For the second question, it depends on the situation. If it was one creature causing the AoE damage and it will be killed rather quickly, I would use a Prayer of Healing. If we were going to be fighting for a while, I would conserve my manna to keep the key players alive with Flash Heal, and cast Renew on the others.
