I don't really mean to be anything but honest here, but after playing with the new patch.... Psychic Scream is now shifted horribly. I used to play well bringing the flag in with a warrior holding the reigns basically protecting his every move into our base. But now what's the use in scatter bombing if the scattering is getting blow apart with one tiny MB disruption or someone else that someone is using to pick our pursuer's off with?
For instance, two things happened last night, 1.) I played WSG and ran with my 58 (warrior) friend in and out of the alliance base.... throwing shields/renew's all along the yellow brick road. After reaching midfield and noticing its clear path to our horde base, I stepped back a bit to scatter our purseur's and let the local shammy drop a Earthbind and pick up where I left off. Little to my surprise, I casted Pain and allowed them a little time to lessen the space between me and them, after casting pain on 3, I scattered. Now after doing so, my goal was to turn around and go to base protecting the flag holder. But I noticed after casting my fear bomb that one of the unwelcomed warrior's that was trailing me popped his interecept 2 seconds after I bomb. Now I saw no release graphic from the Signia he carried, so I figured it was coincidence, I lasted him out around the EB totem with another priest friend whom came in to PS again. Little to my surprise it broke first sign of the damage indication from the Pain spell.
2.) Usually I square off on my own pretty well against the pouring off the fort walls for those alliance who wish to come for the flag holder. If its more than 2 I run to my group, but there happened to be just one that came for me. The same warrior that got me outside. I do what I usually do cast PW:S, cast pain, cast DP, cast renew.... pop shadowform (rare because I protect the flag holder in most occassions unless there is already one with him, but in this battle, because of the high health of this particular warrior, I needed the extra umph of the 15% upgrade in shadow damage) after doing the usual I scattered him with PS......now I usually MB, and MF, but in this occassion, I wanted to see something, so I ran towards the 3rd level of the tower..... 2 seconds..... 2 seconds is all it took for this warrior to retain his current non-fleeing stature from me. Luckly, I was at the bend in the path towards the upper level so I kept the pace. It took the warrior 7 seconds (rough estimate) to get to me. Knowing this I began to wail... its all I had left... he was at half and I was nearly drained on mana. But I had calvary so the backup started to heal me, and then I casted PS again. I had 16 seconds to run due to the fact that he broke fear 2 seconds into it the first time, and 7 seconds of chasing me..... after him popping a Health Pot and pretending to survive more or less against 4 people. He died. But I realized that my outcome was nothing more on 1V1 than to just let myself be taken over as a protector as the flag carrier and mirror this message to those who will listen...
I know there is something up the sleeve's of the developers of this game... or else things would not be turning so steadily. I love to PVP and I know alot of others do. I know priests swing both ways on damage and healers. We are capable of both in our times of need, all depending on skill level of ourselves and others. But please, if you can, respond to this message in hopes to enlighten priests on what outcomes we'll have, or atleast give us a reason to belive that our light praising days, or our shadow weaving ways are becoming balanced.
Oh.... and...... might wanna change this----:
Quote from "Priest Report" sticky....:
Medic!
With the Honor system released and Battlegrounds just around the corner, I have read a lot of posts expressing concern that Priests will be priority number 1 for the enemy. Luckily, Priests are the toughest of the "soft targets". With Inner Fire, Priests can effectively double their armor and be on par with Rogues. *******If an opponent does get within melee range, Priests can cast Psychic Scream to send them running. *****That coupled with Power Word: Shield, Renew, and Heal spells and Priests are one tough --cookie --- to bring down!
**Running is all we can do, or make them do, seeing as anything else we do will send them back to us unless we can survive those last 23 seconds (if you have put points into the talent) which is likely or unlikely due to skill level. Mostly unlikely due to the fact that behind that one is about 4 others on most occassions.
--Don't use cookie..... that makes us even more subseptible to our opponents (hehe)
All in all, most will agree our class is good, some will agree that we can also be improved alot. I agree on both, I leveled this class after being a mage and switching sides. I don't mind doing DPS, or healing the friendlies. I'm layed back in most occassions, I'd rather win then lose, and winning gets more honor.
Excellent idea's overall the forums, although some spells/talents could be tweaked to better benefit the world in which we play as to not be overpowered. Good job to all those who have incredibly idea's on our holy tree (Those of you know whom you are, your threads continually get attention and/or praise) and goodluck to my fellow priests who keep the light....or the shadow.... we're doing what we can...patience is a virtue. Keep the Faith.

I don't know of anything that changed in the last patch, besides the tool tip. The tool tip says that any damage has a chance to break the Fear affect, so it is not surprising that a tick from your Shadow Word: Pain broke the Fear. I may be misreading your post, but that is what I see you asking about, correct?
