The subject says it all. My main is a lvl 60 hunter, so this caster/healer thing is new to me. What do you experienced healers think about Master Healer.
I'm trying to put together a good healing build.
Thanks.
Do I really need a signature?

I've been focused on leveling my Priest lately and the talent build I've decided upon does include Master Healer. I suppose its usefulness as it pertains to my playstyle will be determined as I monitor how often I use my Greater Heal spell . After playing a level 60 Shaman specced in restoration, I'm used to being a main heal in groups and obviously focused on using the small quick heal - Lesser Healing Wave, which is very similar to the Priest's Flash Heal. I'm going to attempt to break the instinct to spam off the smaller heals and determine how efficient and effective I am with the larger heals, however, if I don't feel I'm benefiting on a satisfactory level from the bonus gained by placing points in Master Healer, I will probably respec my talents slightly.
All in all, as much as reading other's input on playing a class is beneficial, I prefer to experiment on my own as much as possible.

Q u o t e: you going to get over level 20 before telling us how to play our class this time?
I'm not sure if this was directed at me or not, but to clarify, I've never told anyone how to play their class and outside of possibly offering suggestions based upon my own experience, I don't plan to at anytime. Being in the position I'm in, I happen to know a large number of people playing this game, with all types of backgrounds and from all parts of the world (well maybe not all parts ;). I for one can certainly appreciate the variety of playstyle, and the importance of playing a class in a manner that brings one the highest element of enjoyment.

Q u o t e: Please go a full 31 points into Holy. It'd be nice for a CM to form a real opinion on the tree as a whole.
Using a cookie cutter build won't help us.
My current build plan is one I put together myself, not one I found off of a site or read somewhere (although with so many players, I'm sure someone has tried it out). We'll see how well it plays out in the long run, although I'm fairy optimistic.
I'm pretty much only putting points into talents which benefit my class in a group as a support character - so no points are being spent on talents which affect my dps, thus I'm only taking Holy down to Master Healer using a total of 30 points on the tree. The remaining points will be spread into the Discipline tree.

Q u o t e: How does it feel from going to owning people as a shaman, to getting owned as a holy priest?
I focus on PvE primarily, and probably always will so I couldn't answer that question based on my own personal experience. Roughly 75% of my time spent playing a Shaman was spent healing in a group. I'm genuinely looking forward to hitting level 60 with this character.

Q u o t e: Even Eyonix can see the 31 point holy talent is useless...
Seriously something needs to be changed there!
Why would a talent be useless simply because I chose not to put a point into it. Using your logic, the entire Shadow tree is useless because I'm not placing any points in it whatsoever. I'm just one person, playing a class and using a build which is designed to support my specific play style of supporting a party or raid.
If it makes you feel better, I considered the final tier Holy talent, but in the end putting a point there put me one short of a talent I wanted more from Discipline.[ post edited by Eyonix ]

Q u o t e: You answered your own question, Eyonix!
You spec demonstrates that Holy Nova is useless for one who wants to heal, and is obviously useless for someone who wants to deal damage.
It. Is. Useless.
First of all, it's most certainly flattering to know that you feel my talent choice defines which talents are and are not good in this game. You seem to have more confidence in my judgment than I do. Second, I didn't not choose Holy Nova because it's useless, I simply decided upon a path which included a talent in the Discipline tree. It's called a sacrificial choice. With my level 60 Mage, I've played around with more talent combinations than any other class, and was often forced to give up one extremely useful talent for another.
In short, my decisions while playing don't set the standard for how this game should be played. I make choices based upon what appeals to me, just like each of you do. Who knows, one day I may get Holy Nova. Perhaps one day I will respec Shadow. For now, as was stated earlier, I'm fairly optimistic about my current talent path.

Q u o t e: Not gonna start having a go at you about talent trees because it's useless to try, but I'd recommend using shadow to level. I went from 10-60 as holy/disc and it was painful to say the least. If you're not undead, or perhaps night elf, you'd be relying on smite, which is pretty bad :/
Thanks for the tip, I really do appreciate it. Thus far I'm doing alright, even though it's a little premature to gauge seeing as I'm still in my early twenties. Considering I'm not in a hurry to level to 60 and just enjoy playing the game, slowness in leveling shouldn't be an issue, if such becomes the case.
To be honest, starting over on a new realm with no money to send myself is slowing me down more than anything. ;)
Also, my Priest is a Night Elf as I felt that I had not invested enough time with the Alliance side compared to Horde. Currently, my highest Alliance character is a level 36 Hunter, which I plan to pass soon.

Lets not allow this thread to digress into a debate on whether or not Holy Nova is useful. We're aware of the concerns, and as I've stated before - Priests will be receiving a complete talent review in an upcoming patch.
In any case, what do you guys think of the Spirit of Redemption talent?

Thanks for all of the great feedback, guys. I'm still going to give the Spirit of Redemption talent a try for myself, and after I've used it for several levels, I will share with you my thoughts.
I'm questing in the Duskwood area right now, one of my favorite lower level zones. ;)

Q u o t e: good to know your working on a priest eyonix,
cant wait till you tell us what YOU (personally) think about the priest when you hit higher levels
in PvP of course
To be honest, it's doubtful I will PvP for quite a while, at least on a scale that's worthy of mention. This character was created specifically to support groups in PvE raid dungeons. My goal right now is to be the best support character possible, and eventually acquire my end-game PvE equipment set.
