Has anyone at all found one in the Tainted Scar? I can confirm that it drops in Darkwhisper Gorge, but I haven't heard a single confirmed drop near Kazzak.

I spoke with the developers about the difficulty in obtaining the Eye of Shadow, and they are content with the current drop rate. Once you get the Eye of Divinity, it is not a guarantee that you will get the epic staff, but a chance at getting it.
Since there are a couple of ways to obtain the Eye of Shadow, it does not sound like the drop rate will be changed.

Barnak, I have to wait for mine to drop as well, and I am fine with that. It is an epic staff, and a really good one at that, so I do not mind all the work it takes to get it. In situations like this I truly believe the reward is worth the work put into it.

The Eye of Shadow is for an epic weapon, and one that is not supposed to be easy to obtain. It is an epic weapon, so questing for it should be epic as well. No one ever said getting the Eye of Shadow would be easy.
