Cay, I appreciate your "saint-like" patience with this forum. I know it can be tough. But I think part of the reason why pallys are so upset and dissapointed with the patch is because they are afraid that this is it. After this, there will be no more changes to the pally class. And while I do believe that this is the direction that the Devs want to go with the paladin, I am sure they do not feel like they are completely done with the class. As new patches come, many of these talents and abilities will be adjusted to further balance the game.
So what I am asking is for a simple statement. I am not asking you to say Pallys will be buffed accordingly in upcoming patches. But I think people would be less aprehensive if they knew that the devs are devoted to all of WoWs classes and will continue to tweak and balance them throughout the entire life of the game. That they are not completely dropping the Paladin class now that the talent changes are done.
Pallys are worried that after this patch, they are going to go back to being ignored.

There will always be tweaks and changes to all classes as we move forward. MMOG content grows and evolves over time, and that includes classes. No, Paladins won't be shelved and called "finished" at any point.

Ok....(takes a breath)...Cay...do the dev's realize that in "high end instance raids" they have themselves pigeonholed us in the role of "heal/cleansebot".
At the very least...please...at least recognize that that's all we are good for.
Nope, you're not going to see any sort of admission out of me like that.
I don't think you quite understand the power my words can (often unintentionally) have...
Honest question: Do you want to be a "cleansebot" in the endgame? I'm betting the answer is no.
But if I admitted to what you're asking, that's vindication for all the people who want to pigeonhole you into that role. You'll never be allowed to do anything differently, now or in the future.
You may say, "But we don't do anything different now!" Funny, I do see Paladins tanking well -- provided the group knows what they're doing -- in places like Dire Maul. I see them on the front lines in Molten Core. The second I type out such a phrase, resistance to anything but the role I state becomes much, much stronger.
That's like asking me to admit that Shaman are only good for healing, or that Druids should always, always have Innervate. It won't happen -- period.
