Subject: Caydiem, are we being ignored?
Stupid question, but are we? A good majority of the Paladin community (I cannot speak for all Paladins, as there are some who are quite chipper about the new changes, especially in Holy) are quite upset over the entire issue. We've only really seen a (positive) change to the Holy Tree; Whilst the other two remain in a rather poor state (The Retribution Tree above all.) I'm just wondering why Caydiem or -anyone- representing Blizzard hasn't gotten back to us as of yet.

No, you're not. The feedback channel is just a little clogged, as there's more to focus on than just Paladins at the moment. I have much, much more on my plate than just class feedback; I wear multiple hats. Your class feedback has been submitted, the developers have heard it, and I have some answers going through the editorial process right now.

To speak outside that, however, and touch on Retribution a bit. Many are lamenting the perceived loss of the infamous "critadin" build. The crit-focused Paladin was making the best out of what was given to him, and I understand that it's difficult to adjust. The developers wanted to bring the line more controlled DPS rather than relying on chance and having the damage numbers wildly across the board. It's true you may not see those huge, incredibly-gratifying numbers much anymore, but your DPS will be more reliable and predictable, allowing you to perform better on the whole. Give it a chance.

Q u o t e:
What about the 31 Point Talents? Many have been concerned over the adjusting or complete removal of the current ones since 1.9 was mentioned.

That's covered more in the writeup going through editing.

Loista, I took feedback last week. What's in the editorial process is not player feedback, but rather the developers' reasoning for why the changes were made. Sorry for not being clearer; I explained that last week and forgot how fast the Paladin boards move.

Q u o t e:
Ummm excuse me Miss, I'm confused. I for one expected our feedback to be submitted and reviewed and replied to BEFORE our changes were finialized, not AFTER. What good does it do us or anyone to submitt them and review them after the fact? I appreciate you giving us some info here but please tell me this isn't what happened. I know what upsets me more than anything else, is that all of the feedback the Paladins submitted seems to have been ignored from what we see of the released talents. I mean why even ask us for feedback if it was all going to be ignored?

I am all for giving the new talents a try, but so far they leave much to be desired on the test realm.

They were submitted before the fact.

What's in the works is not your feedback, but the developers' response.

Was I really that confusing? :/

Wrong you posted it in general and LOCKED the thread....

That says precisely what I said in this thread. How is that wrong? It's consistent with what I've stated. There were two separate feedback threads on the Test Realm forum that I used.

Q u o t e:
I completely understood the fact that it was the developer feedback being edited, hence your post last week on translating dev terms to player terms and vise versa.

What I asked for was an answer on whether or not the talents that are on the site are going live, like they have every single time in the past.

Just yes or no.

Simple question for which I don't have an answer. I don't know.

cay,

a simple question and right to the point.
Why have the devs decided on these changes, and have any of our feedback in the last year been taken into consideration?

Not a simple question. The "why" answer is coming.

The answer to the second part is yes. Despite what you may believe, the developers have been in tune with your feedback throughout the past year. However, they have their own goals and must design in accordance with the big picture; what players want and what the developers need to do to preserve balance overall sometimes differ.
