Subject: Have these mage issues been addressed?

  • Snare overlapping (or lack thereof)

As fantastic as the new Blizzard is, what it means is that if you use Blizzard on a target, proc frostbite, and then shoot a frostbolt at the rooted target, they will not be snared by it. The Imp Blizzard debuff will probably have 1 second left at best.

Similar issues arise with CoC and Frostbolt, Blizz and CoC, and even Blastwave and CoC. As an elementalist I always skipped Winter's Chill because a single point negated the snare of a Blastwave used on a CoC'd target(s).

Have the promised raid debuff changes made it into this patch, and does the debuff system now allow like debuffs to coexist without stacking? I seriously doubt this kind of massive game mechanic change has been made, so please, please, please listen to me:

Give our snares trivial debuffs. Frost Armor's snare will stick to a target with a stronger snare because of the attack speed reduction component. If frostbolt reduced attack power by 5 it would actually be one of the most awesome buffs mages ever got. Please present this concept to the devs.

  • AoE +Dmg Coefficients

Ironically I do think that AoE damage has scaled to HP very nicely. However, other damage has not been so polite, and AoE seems a bit lacking nowadays (outside of PvE content designed for it). Even bumping the +dmg on AoE up to 45% (from 33%) would be noticeable and would feel like we were being thrown a bone in this department.

  • Magic defense

Alright, this is something that the talent review pretty clearly tells us hasn't really changed. Now I'll be honest, Ice Barrier will help us out against a lot of classes, but the only caster it will really help against is moonkin and mages (if you burn Iceblock to stall). The reason being other casters either do too much damage or have Devour Magic, Dispel, or Purge.

Have you considered giving Frostbite a Curse of Tongues/Mind Numbing Poison type effect? This would both provide caster defense, and allow us to use Frostbite in raiding situations. Golemagg may be immune to roots, but he's not immune to Curse of Tongues. Frost mages would love this change.

   Reasonable points. Thank you.

Blink and +dmg cooefficients for AoEs are still being looked into and require deeper programming work than talent changes. They are still on the table for future consideration.

Q u o t e:
After disclosing that the new Arcane Subtlety was the "never seen before spell mechanics" and that the new conjure food was our improvement in downtime, how can you possibly believe a word Tseric says?

Ummmm, never said that. Please don't twist my words for your own defeatist agenda. Tell me, why should I believe a word you say when you respond with hearsay like this?

When tseric gets pwnt, he stops posting.

Yes, great, I was caught in a 'lie' about Arcane Subtlety. You win. Your prize? Nothing. Enjoy.

Still never said,"New rank food helps downtime!".
