Subject: Which is more useful 25% crit or +300dam?
I scoured through all my banked gear and such today and realized I have +300 frost gear (mixed frost and +all schools of magic) in the various blues and epix I have.
Currently I have a scorch build with:

25% crit
3800HP
5800MP

I could switch to frost of some sort and be
+300frost dam (about 150 to all schools)
3300HP
5200MP

Anyone know what kind of damage my frostbolts will do with +300 dam? I tried to figure it out but it seems too low so i think i forgot something (assuming ice shards 3/3)

Given that I can use frost channeling or some arcen talent to ignore the issue of mana for the frost spec...which is the more useful in the long run. I pvpd most recently with the scorch spec, but dont have time to get past rank 10, so im quitting that.
Id like to be able to solo the elites in winterspring but dunno if my stats/gear is at that point yet.

What do people think is the better choice of gear, and what build should i go with for +300 dam in frost if i respec to frost?

Opinions?
Thanks

If you're PvPing, a frost spec is pretty good, so it would go to follow that the +dmg would fall in line with that. Crit gear can be sketchy in PvE because of potential chunks of unexpected damage, which then draws aggro. Drawing aggro as a mage is harsh.

However, crit gear for PvP can be argued as worthwhile for a fire-spec mage provided you aren't losing to much in the trade-off (stats or dmg).

Personally, I would probably go +dmg gear with frost spec, but that's just me.
Bob is my co-pilot.
