Regardless of all the things that both mages and casters in general know, overall it will effect nothing.
The game is melee dominated.
We wont be shifted up in priority.
We will probably get half a look considering we are currently "just fine" in about 6 months, so dont expect too much when they do decide to actually consider us people too.
We will have to endure every class being buffed around us, with even more tasteful ways for us to get murdered. (Didnt a CM mention they balance everything relative to all other classes? I submit Beastial Wrath as not well thought out.)
We will have to deal with developer incompetence. Including such issues as stats, item budget balance, caster CC negation, survivability, damage etc. (Look up most of the posts by CMs pertaining to casters - apparently there is no imbalance and all casters are just fine when compared to melee. Now, go look at the new server populations and notice which classes are least played and most played. Melee win.)
The stickies at the top at Caydiems response? Their quelling the masses because mages are fed up. We know weve been neglected. Cms and Devs think are issues are weak enough that we can suffer a year and a half of neglect before they begin to touch us.
We are out of patience. We are tired of being told your aware, your trying, possible, well try to improve it. Start acting on it.
Caydiem - How you could post your statement as you did and realistically expect players to take that as a notion that you or the Devs care? Weve heard those lines for months and nothing has changed for us except us losing our roles and more people leaving in frustration.
You say play the game for fun. You say you designed the game to be fun. How is it fun to have your class not recieve anything for a year, with another 6 months to go, while every single other class in the game is pushed so far ahead of you that you would rather just reroll?
Some may consider this a whine, others a post of truth. Personally I dont care anymore and Im fed up. Mages need to take a stand and need to continue posting concern after concern or flat out just leave the class - because the only thing that has changed since beta to retail is mages being extremely weak while everyone around them has become exponetially strong.
I expect this will get lost in the mage forums. But I had to vent, because as much as I love the class for what it could be, I realize well never see it get there.[ post edited by Thiera ]
