Just to clear the air and to confirm when one encounters an item that says +26 to fire spells and "effects", that "effects" is all other spells correct? Thank you in advance!

Effects, in the context of +dmg gear really means spell effects or, basically, any extra effect from the spell that was cast. Often confused with effects from trinkets and such. +spell dmg gear will affect only spells from the caster, not from wands, trinkets, consumables, etc. [ post edited by Tseric ]
