i will refrain from talking about my problems with overall mage dps, bad caster itemization, shamans in general, no agro shedding abilities, arcane meditation not stacking with mage armor, hwo $!@%ty magister and arcanist sets are, the growing resist problem, the blink texture bug, the problems with arcane missles, the fact that sheep never holds, and all my other problems with the mage class in general.
lets discuss...
why,
in 90% of endgame PVE
an entire talent tree for mages,
is completely useless.
im currently 31 arcane 20 frost (raid/dps spec)
with a few pieces arcanist & quite a few netherwind.
i feel for all u fire mages out there :(

How exactly is it useless? It appears to be nothing more than a situational issue. Because MC is a fairly frequented dungeon, a lot of fire resist gear is in game, being used. ZG, however, is primarily nature damage. When other non-fire dungeons become more frequented, you may see a shift in resist gear. The issue of fire resistance isn't going to be 'fixed' by buffing fire spells or nerfing fire-resist gear. It's going to be adjusted by player considerations and selections.
