Subject: Slouken: patch code question
Sorry to address something specifically to you, but this is something I suppose only you can answer.

To make things easier for mod authors, there's some areas in the Blizzard UI code that would benefit from a change. Rather than screaming about this or that, I prefer to provide a patch to the UI code - to fully illustrate my idea and to reduce work if the idea is adopted.

Normally when I do this for a company, I assign all copyright for the patch over to them, or place the patch in the public domain.

Which of these would you prefer?

Yours in pirateyness,
Aliset

Subject: Re: Wait Wait Wait,
Go ahead and post it - most likely someone can show you how to turn that change into an addon or macro.

We have used other people's UI code in the past (credit to Iriel for his line drawing code), but we tend not to in general, and always with permission. If you have something you'd specifically like to see, go ahead and post it, stating that it's in the public domain and free for anyone to use for any purpose. I usually don't have time to review changes much, especially if they are complicated, but I'll glance at it if I have time.
