Recently I've been playing with the new return value of GetItemInfo that returns the inventory icon-- fun stuff. Anyway, in doing this, I've noticed that if GetItemInfo returns nil for an item, setting a tooltip to that item causes the item cache to be updated and GetItemInfo to return good data. However, this doesn't happen until a few tenths of a second after the tooltip is set. This is contrary to how I (and Iriel) understood the item cache to work. In my tests it usually takes anywhere from 200-500ms after a tooltip has been set for the item cache to be updated (I figure the variance is based on latency and server load). Can you shed some light on this enigma?
What more work?
I don't wanna do that.
Yes m'Lord.

What's the enigma? That's how long it takes to get the information back from the server. Once the information is received, the tooltip is updated and the info is in the cache.[ post edited by slouken ]

Q u o t e:
The new enchant: links does NOT autoupdate like item-links. Which makes required mats that's not in the local cache, not show on the tooltip.
Also, the color of the mats are color red or white, depending if you have any of the mats or not - but does not take into account if you have enough of that item (ie if the enchant requires 10 Greater Eternal Essences, it shows as white if you just have one).
This will be fixed in 1.10, thanks!

It's a cool idea, but making it useful would be a fair bit of work.
