Ok i did a fresh install of wow before dling the patch. Now when i try to put my addons back into the interface folder ... they wont show up... Upon further inspection they do show up if they are already there before the patch... BUT if you remove them and start the game again it will dissapear even if you put the addon back in.... hope i explained that well enough. so your addons stay there as long as you dont remove them, but if you do remove them they wont show back up again. Am i the only one with this problem?

Q u o t e: i'm not being uncooperative it's just that nothing is working. I've tried everything i know of and everything you guys have posted and still no button no nothing. Addons are installed properly, in the right folder latest versions strait from the websites. WTF folder cleared, relogged multiple times ... still no button.
This should be fixed in 1.8.1.
Have you tried logging in, and then logging back out again to the character selection screen and seeing if the addon button shows up?

Q u o t e: How can I describe this fix in the update notes? Is it ignoring addons after a clean install or something like that?
Actually, I'm not sure if this is completely fixed, but the issue where no addon button would show up if you got the realm selection screen should be fixed. His problem may be related, which is why I asked about seeing a button when you log out.

Q u o t e: I believe this issue stems from selecting the Disable All button when WOW says your UI is out of date.
I was having a similar problem where I tried the previous solution proposed (deleting a file) still no add on. Here is how I fixed it, I downloaded a differnt group of mods and install them then launched the game. When I go to character select screen, I get the UI MOd out of date warning and I selected Enable ALL. This gave me back the addon button.
I used to only use the ctmod basic package, nothing else. When I still couldn't get the add on button, I d/l the whole package and installed. That's when I got the warning bout the mod being out of date and I selected ENABLE ALL then I got the button.
When I clicked the addon button, I saw the new mods as enabled...but the older mods (that I updated) still showed as disabled. Therefore, I think WOW is simply confusing Disabled Mods with a state where there are no mods installed.
Can anyone get consistent steps to reproduce this from scratch?
