Subject: SavedVariables question ...
   Hello,

I am confused on the use of the saved variables file with the new patch.

I notice that the original file in the root directory of the account folder is still there, and that SOME addon settings are still there. Each of my addons now also has its own saved variables file in the SavedVariables folder, of course, as announced and explained by Blizzard.

In looking over these files, the settings are duplicated, meaning that there are settings in the file that is specifically for that addon, but that same addon also has its settings in the generic savedvariables file.

If I delete the generic file, my settings get all screwed up, even though the specific file for that addon is still in the saved variables folder.

Anyway, this leads to my total lack of understanding of what is what. What is the purpose of the specific files if the generic one is still needed for the same addons?

Is my system acting oddly or is this behavior true for all of us?

I hope someone can explain the relation between the new addon-specific saved variables files and the old generic file.

Many thanks

Yeah, I wasn't actually recommending it, I was just brainstorming. :)
