Subject: Change to Mortal Shots
This one is slightly less boisterous in nature, I'm afraid.

The designers have deemed Mortal Shots a touch too powerful in its current form when combined with the rest of the talent changes. As such, the maximum will no longer be 50%, but rather 30% to ranged weapon critical damage. This brings the talent more in line with the Rogue equivalent, Lethality, which holds the same percentage.

Even with this change, Hunter DPS should increase in 1.7 on the whole. After reviewing the affect Mortal Shots would have when used with the other possible combination of talents, it was determined that a 50% increase in critical damage would be going too far; the new value should still be beneficial, and DPS should still increase for you on average. :)

I am not in any way trying to get you to believe that this change is a buff. It isn't; we all know that.

However, the change is made, the reasoning has been presented, and that's all I have to give you. I know it's disappointing, and I'm sorry, but the decision was not made frivolously.

This one is slightly less boisterous in nature, I'm afraid.

The designers have deemed Mortal Shots a touch too powerful in its current form when combined with the rest of the talent changes. As such, the maximum will no longer be 50%, but rather 30% to ranged weapon critical damage. This makes the talent similar to its Rogue equivalent, Lethality, which holds the same percentage. (Mind you, this is NOT a comparison between the two classes, as they are not precisely the same and have a wealth of different abilities and strengths.)

So when you read 27 pages of protest against this nerf, you see mostly insults? Truly?

Seems rather myopic to me.

Actually, I wasn't referring to just this thread.

The majority of threads that are more in line with what I'm referring to have since been deleted and their authors suspended.

A few people -- not many -- in this thread got the same treatment.

I do plan on speaking with the developers further about this change, but 1) fixating on a comparison between classes when I didn't truly give one, and 2) ranting about how the developers clearly don't understand your class does nothing to help me help you.

What does is clear questions regarding the change. Reasoning why you feel it should not be changed (keeping in mind that you have not played with the changes as a whole yet). That sort of feedback -- when presented calmly and logically, as some of you have already done -- is what is preferred.

How do you expect cay to understand when she hasnt invested 70 days of play time in a characer.Cay is looking for insults. And you will find angry people on here.

Total playtime on my main account: 70 Days, over 40 of those logged straight into my main character.

Please don't treat me as if I don't understand the player viewpoint and what it means to be emotionally and financially invested in a character. I've played these games for years, and as a gamer I completely understand how someone can get worked up over something like this.

There are different ways to work through your anger, though. Insulting people on here will only result in getting your account suspended. Now, it's my job to read the forums (not the Hunter forums specifically, mind you, but the forums in general), and I do. The developers also tend to, when they have time. Do you think the insults help the developers understand your situation? No. What they do is make one less inclined to visit the forum or take the posters there seriously because they cannot conduct themselves in a civil manner. It sounds poor, but it's the simple truth.

No, I'm not as much of an experienced Hunter as some of you, something I'm actively trying to change. But I am an experienced player, and I wouldn't have this job if I didn't understand your position.

Meaning what, precisely?

I am a player, yes, but I am also a representative of Blizzard. I take your feedback to the developers and I do argue your side in a manner with which they'll sympathize, but that doesn't mean the developers have to agree with your position or change the game in the manner you desire.

Do elaborate, Solo.

What do i mean exactly. What i mean is i want someone who knows this class and can make things happen. Now you are in charge of too many forums. The problem is we need someone who knows the hunter. And can make the developers understand what needs to be done.

Perhaps a more experienced person to relay the msg is needed.Because its unfair for you to know every class. But keep in mind the note pad thing is way out of line in a situation when we want feedback. Its sad i have to almost attack you to get you to say anything in this forum.

By all means speak. All the hunters in here want someone to listen, that is all.Tell us what you think, and ignore the people who are out of line.Tell us perhaps a suggestion you might make to the devolopers.Communicate, and work with us.That is what i mean.

The Art piece wasn't sarcastic. Just the thoughts of a Community Manager late at night. Communicating, telling you what I was thinking, that's what I did... funny, doesn't seem like you took too kindly to it. ;)

We're not hiring class representatives, so the crew on the Community Team here is what you get. Eyonix's Hunter is 36, I think, and I'm rapidly surpassing that... that's the highest we've got (ON THE COMMUNITY TEAM, mind you. Developers do have level 60s, including some class designers). We're working on rectifying that, but it takes time; we're not forced to play the game. We do, because we do need to know it, but it's not a "log at least 4 hours a day" thing.

I'm not in a position to be making my own suggestions about Hunters to the developers. You folks know the class better than I do at this juncture, so it's your feedback I work with. When I have information for you, I give it, and when I can solicit feedback from you, I do, but understand that it is not my sole job to work with Hunters and there are no plans to get such a system in place.
