There is a possibility of more chances to get into the beta however, that is just a possibility as of right now and not a guarantee. The best advice I have is to keep an eye on our website or some of the various fansites.

Most likely they'll know when they get their beta email invite. Otherwise the only method of knowing is the one you mentioned.
For those wanting to know WHEN beta is, we don't have any information on that yet. ;)
For those wanting to know about BC releasing this year, we are still aiming for a Q4 2006 release. We have not given an official release date as of yet however.
