Subject: The thing that kills the game
Yeah, the thing that's gonna kill the game for me is the grouping. Now that I've hit level 59, I want to get started on things like the Onyxia key quest, and the Seal of Ascension, and a butt-load of quests for Scholo and Strath, but no, I can't.

So far, no one lets me in Scholo or Strath groups. I'm not 60. I guess that's ok. Fine. But LBRS is cake for 57+ people. So today, it took me 3 hours to actually find a group, then another hour for everyone to get there. Fine, I finally got a group that has all of the same quests as I do, so this should be good. One problem is we have two druids. No real rezzer. So no ones dies. We got to Omokk without dying. Yay. Then I die at Omokk and the tank dies. Druids are now out of combat so we run back. By the time I get back, Omokk has despawned, so I can't loot the gem for the Seal. Sweet.

Next, we jump down next to Bijou.. however the 56 Druid jumps right on top of the trolls there, after we told him to watch out, and we wipe right there. While running back, two guys say they hate groups that can't function and wipe all the time and they leave. WTF? Seriously, one full wipe and a half-wipe is all the time?? And, of course, the group falls apart. 4 hours of preparation for 1.5 hours of killing. Awesome.

Now I have to do that all over again if I ever want to get Warlord's Command done, and the Seal of Ascension.

So this is the problem that's gonna kill the game for me. It's not the lag, not the ganking, not the raiding (I really want to raid!), not the Paladin/Shaman issue, not the balance issue, none of that. The people I have to group with. That is the game killer. I'm not quitting yet, and I probably won't at all. But every time a group dies like that, I get a little closer to that cancel button.

Thank you for reading my rant. If anyone has any advice for finding groups, please post.

Q u o t e:
What's ironic is I want to get into a raiding guild with two of my real life friends, but I need to get 60 and Ony keyed before I can.

I think you're in luck if those are the only requirements for your entrance into the guild. You're being a bit down on yourself and your current goals due to some poor groups, and I think you need to just stay optimistic and yeah, maybe get your friends to help you out when they can. At least then you can rely on a few more people that you know and can trust. Work on getting to 60, and keep working on the key quest. You'll get there. You may have some groups that are frustrating, you may have some that break up early, etc. but you'll get there.

Pick-up groups can really be smooth and effortless experiences, but when everyone involved is an unknown variable you can certainly run into problems more readily. In my own experiences, if nothing else, I try to take a good story away from a failed PUG.
