Subject: how do cross realm bj's solve queue times?
Since they aren't based on population, overall one side will still have a much higher pop, so won't the wait be just as long?

Depends on faction balance of a particular realm. Realms with an overbalance of one faction may see no change or an increased wait time as their particular 'group type' may be over-saturated.

Conversely, a realm with low faction population may see decreased queue times as they can be matched up with a larger pool of opponents.

It's really more of a case-by-case thing than a magic bullet that will resolve all queue times.

Generally speaking, though, with larger pools on both sides you will end up with a higher average of matches per given period.
The path of least resistance tempts all ramblers.
