| |
Hi,
I wanted to just alert everyone about what I'm being forced to go through in order to get my accounts back so the rest of you can avoid it in the future. I came back from vacation yesterday, and I had allowed a close family friend of mine to play the account while I was away. I come back to find my account all locked up and was forced to call blizzard. Apparentely, my account became locked because of "Multiple I.P's." Blizzard on their own assumed that my account must be hacked and locked it down. Now I'm being forced to prove to blizzard that I am who I say I am. I have to just say that I am appaled at Blizzard because of this incident. Now, because of this, I"m on the verge of just quitting WoW even though I'd be leaving all my close friends behind. Does this mean that no one can let a friend play their account? I hope that this will alert people, so that they can avoid going through the grief and irritation that I'm now being forced to undergo.

I would recommend re-reading the documents you agreed to when installing the game, creating your account, and when first logging in. There are specific rules with who may access an account, and they are enforced.
That aside, taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of our customer's accounts is something that we take pride in, and something that I believe the majority of our playerbase appreciates. While it can create situations where you may be inconvenienced, the converse situation would result in a great amount of frustration.
That aside, you violated the document you agreed to, and while we're glad that the account was not compromised, we took a precaution necessary to protect our customer's investment. So in that case, I believe what you had intended to say was "Thank you". :)
We are building a forum of extraordinary magnitude.
