Subject: Character Transfers... Let me Get this right.
Didnt have enough time to read the other thread with 1 billion posts...

but to someone who has can u please verify this is correct?

$25.00? So what they used to do for free--allow subscribers in high population servers move to low population servers to reduce hardware stress and lag problems--they're now doing for a cost of $25.00. I was thinking something like this would cost a maximum of $10.00.

So, let's say a guild of 70 active members doing end-game instances are getting fed up with the lag in each instance as well as the unpredictable server crashes. This guild wants to move from a server that has been around since retail to a new server with new hardware and much less lag. Assuming everybody in this fictional guild would want to move alts as well, and also assuming there are 2.25 characters per player to move, Blizzard would roughly make $4000.00.

Now that's business. Screw giving subscribers a better server for free when you can potentially make tens of thousands of dollars per old server for people to transfer to the new ones!

This service is in additional service that many players have wanted. It is strictly optional.

Q u o t e:
The Blizzard website is confusing as it lists those five realms as "Eligible Source Realms", while the pop-up over the Horde and Alliance listing beside each realm states that "Both Horde and Alliance characters may transfer to this realm".

I'm not sure where you see the confusion on this. There are currently five realms that have the ability to transfer to other eligible realms. As time goes by and as we see how the system does, more realms will be made available to do transfers.

Saying both Horde and Alliance can transfer is simply for clarification's sake. Please remember that if you have an Alliance character on a realm you will not be able to transfer a Horde character to that realm as well.
