Subject: Concerning new PvP armor update.
Isn't it only fair that players that have already reached their desired rank have access to the new PvP armor?

I understand that you are not able to buy PvP armor above your rank, but this is a totally different circumstance...

I could understand if the PvP honor system was overhauled, and now the updated PvP rewards were just that, rewards. There have not been major changes, if any to the way honor is earned.

You see fit to update the armor, which was very much needed. It was needed so players that chooses to PvP and not PvE can compete somewhat with players that are decked in purples. I do not understand why you would deny the people that have already obtained their ranks of the new "updated" armor.

Unless I am missing something, I see no reason why players that have reached their desired rank would not have access to the new armor. The armor that was updated because it sub par.

Thanks for reading, any clarification would be much appreciated.

Subject: Re: Concerning new PvP armor update.
The team has covered this topic in the past with the following information:

"The PvP rewards added are being provided as new items for players that want to achieve those ranks. The ranking system is intended to allow players of a current rank access to specific PvP rewards, and those rewards are what is available to a character of that rank. The intention is that your rank should be important; you should be fighting (literally) to keep yourself at your rank, or hopefully even move to higher ranks. For players that simply wanted to achieve a rank to obtain a specific item, thats good and hopefully it worked out for them, they obtained the item they wanted. Allowing that player to then access any brand new rewards that may be added would devalue the intent of the PvP reward system. From a design standpoint, opening retroactive rewards to players in that way would only detract from engaging gameplay, its providing rewards based on past accomplishments. Those past accomplishments are hopefully something the player enjoyed, and they obtained the rewards available at that time due to them.

The changes made to the rank 12 and 13 items were done to bring the overall stats of the items more in line with what those ranked items should be. We recognize that some of the changes made have veered from the original stats, and the original reasons people fought to obtain these sets. With that said were going to be bringing some of the stats back in line with what the sets originally had, but still increase the values."
