I've been playing on the Test server now for the past week or so and have been having a lot of fun and so has everyone else since it's very long wait times to get into the server. The draw? Pre-Made level 60 classes that you can use to play...all with very high gear.
Why not make this a permanent server? I mean, it's a BLAST. Yes, there will be people that tire of it after a while, but so what? It's a game. Games are suppose to be fun, right?
Now, there should be some conditions...like you have to have at least one character on the regular PVE or PVP servers at 60. That way you have experienced the game the way the designers have intended. THEN you can play on the Template server.
I also think a Template server will draw back people that are bored with WoW at 60 now...something that the expansion will do also. With a Template server they can jump right into the fray, like they would if they were playing Counterstrike or something like that. Plus it gives you a chance to try out different classes at the very high end.
I don't know, but I think Blizzard is missing out on something that could be a lot of fun. Also, if you're the type of person that doesn't like this idea because you feel everyone should have to go through all the time and pain to get to 60 with all uber gear...then you're missing the point. The point is to have fun. Why not have some fun? Also, if you don't like this type of thing, no one is forcing you to be on that server, right? Just like no one is forcing you to try out the Test Server...where this type of thing is going on right now. Only that it's all wiped away after the patch...so no guilds, no anything...will stay. And who knows when it will be back for the short time again.
Just a thought. (BTW, Xaz is level 60 now, but for some reason my avatar won't upgrade here. Also, it lists my server as Aman'Thul, but I'm on Doomhammer. I don't think I've even been to Aman'Thul before. At least it got my guild right).[ post edited by Xaz ]

It's something that we have though of, and while there is a possibility that we may offer a "permanent" test realm there are no current plans to do so.
