My science teacher. She's fresh out of college (dunno about Tseric), and thought it would be just dandy to teach high school science for a little while. She tried being nice. But eventually she became completely jaded and frustrated with her classes.
Like Tseric. He tried being nice. Now he's a jerk. I don't care if you give me a little forum vacation for this post, Tseric. You insult people, and really don't do much to help manage this community. Last I checked the job was MANAGER not DICTATOR.

Q u o t e: However, it would be easier to just close the thread with "Off-topic" or "Not constructive" or even "Complaints lodged with derogatory remarks are closed on the basis of trolling/flaming and you would be better served to file your complaints in a constructive manner". Take the high road.
And when that doesn't work, what then?
I see a lot of people theorizing about what the right thing to do is. I also see a lot of people trying to apply conventional retail business models to this job. This is not a one-to-one retail engagement here. It isn't even a 100-to-one retail engagement. What goes on in these forums can not even be understood through analogies to retail or conventional customer service. I am not here to provide service as a Game Master is or as a Tech Support rep is. Our jobs are vastly different.
When it comes down to it, the practice of engaging in this environment is vastly different than the many theories I have seen presented. The theories that have been presented simply do not work in the face of reality, because they do not take into account real behavior, only assumed or expected behavior or behavior that can be cultivated in a different environment. Social interaction in the real world has many more implicitly understood rules, laws and guidelines which the internet does not. These rules also do not necessarily apply to this venue. Some may, but it is not a given.
I could go on about social conditioning, but I am feeling a little spent right now.
To live outside the law, one must be honorable
