| |
Earlier this evening we were able to resolve an authentication issue which was not allowing account password changes to update properly. Since this issue was resolved we have found that some users accounts may have their Parental Controls either turned on, or changed, which may be blocking their ability to log in. We are currently still researching the cause for this change.
If you are unable to log in due to an error stating that your password or account name is wrong please first visit the Account Management page (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/) and change your password. Attempt to log in again using the new password you set.
If this does not allow you to log in properly please visit the Account Management page (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/) and click on the Parental Controls icon/link. Ensure that the Parental Controls are set to the appropriate times, or that they are disabled depending on your desired settings.

We are currently still researching the cause for this change and we will provide further information as soon as it is available.

If this does not allow you to log in properly you may need to temporarily disable your Parental Controls. Please visit the Account Management page (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/) and click on the Parental Controls icon/link. Select the 'Deactivate' box, and click 'Submit Schedule'. The Parental Control changes may take up to 30 minutes to take effect.[ post edited by Drysc ]

UPDATE 1:30 PM PDT 5/17/06
We believe we have found the source of the issue causing the incorrect parental control changes and users should no longer be experiencing login issues due to them being enabled. If you do want parental controls on you should now be able to enable them again to their previous settings.
