I believe the current plan is to allow the Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warlock and Warrior as available character classes for the Blood Elves upon the release of the Burning Crusade. Much can change between now and then, however.

It'd be pretty silly if the race that has spawned Azeroth's greatest rangers couldn't be Hunters.
Well, I'm reporting information based upon the latest design direction for the race, in an email dated April 24th. I don't remember what classes Tigole specifically mentioned, but I do remember, just as I've done now, he stated that the information given was subject to change.
I'll post a follow-up once I can confirm the current class availability list for the Blood Elves.[ post edited by Eyonix ]
