I need one of the CMs to address an issue I have discovered while completing the chain quests to upgrade dungeon class sets to 0.5 tier sets.
I have been looking forward to completing the 0.5 tier set quests since Blizzard first announced that it was going to introduce them in the patch 1.10.
Once they announced this, I have been saving gold to buy the belt and wrists of Lightforge (Paladin) set. Once the patch was introduced, the Lightforge gauntlets price has soared through the roof, and being desperate enough to wanting to complete the quest, I had decided to spent a good 230 gold to buy this off AH. (I know the current price of this on Tichondrius goes around 70 to 80 gold.)
Once I became the right level, I wore the wrists, belt, and the gauntlets. In addition, in my pursuit of upgrading my gears and completing quests by running through multiple dungeons, I had picked up another pair of Lightforge gauntlets and wrists.
Now, I completed the quests to convert Lightforge wrists, belt, and gauntlets to Soulforge. The problem is that when I completed the quest to convert the Lightforge gauntlets, the game converted the unused B.O.E. gauntlets in the bank, and not the pair I was wearing. GG me.
But the weird thing is that, for the wrists, I had the wrists worn on myself and unused B.O.E. in my bank. After collecting 15 bloods from Winterspring and turning them into the NPC, the game converted the pair I was wearing instead of the ones in my bank.
I naturally paged a GM and started talking to him. He then tells me that there is absolutely nothing he can do, and that, although he sympathizes with my situation, and that he has had the similar thing happen to him, he does not have the ability to convert soulbound item to non-soulbound item. <I forgot to add one more thing that the GM said> He said that the game is working as intended. >.<
Then, I started arguing the fact that, if I have a quest item in my bank, and I am trying to turn in a quest which requires me to turn in that particular quest item, the game does not recognize that, and that until I retrieve that item from the bank, I cannot complete the quest.
I also mentioned that, with my wrists, the game converted my wrists that I was wearing and not the ones in the bank to which he again responds different sets work differently, and that again the game was working as intended.
He keeps telling me that there is nothing he can do for me, and that he highly suggests that I come to the forum to discuss it in chance that one of the CMs can look into the matter.
So, here I am, (1) ranting a bit about this unfair situation and (2) forewarning everyone to make sure to keep any BOE sets on an alt or in mail rather than in bank when completing dungeon set upgrade quests.
The GM that I spoke with did mention that his superior has agreed to look into the matter and he wanted to me stay online as long as possible. The time I spoke with him was around 12:45 AM, and I logged off around 3:25 AM, hoping to get a resolution by then. I had to get up early for work, so I could not stay on any longer.
15 hours later, there still is no response. I did get a message through WoW in-game mail, that they were going to send me an e-mail about this, but it was only a generic response that they received my petition and, while they cannot guarantee a resolution, they will look into the matter.
Perhaps, CMs should warn all players about this.[ post edited by Minerva ]

I would recommend specifying the two different events (of the gloves and bracers)in a post on the bug report forums. It does seem odd that different items are treated differently by the game, when the same circumstances appear to be met.
Could be an issue with the soulbinding mechanics.
