Subject: Why the extensive delay on item restoration?
About a week and a half ago I sent in a ticket to get an item restored that for whatever reason vanished from my inventory/bank. I knew for a fact that item wasn't vendored and I knew it wasn't deleted since it was a very important weapon towards my character progression. I get a response the following day from a GM and he gives me the usual song and dance about sending it to the escalation team.

What bothers me is this, he told me I would have to blow one of my limited item restoration uses via GM in order to have it restored even though the item vanished through no fault of my own, furthermore... It's extremely frustrating that it's been over a week and a half and the ticket is still open and my item has yet to be restored. I would think customer service/GM's would address issues like this in a more timely manner. Needless to say, very dissatisfied with the current response/troubleshooting times of the GM staff.

Verification of item loss involves going through logs. The logs must be parsed for the appropriate data and even then you are looking at a solid block of information. Think wall of text. Verification could take a number of hours and then, of course, we haven't even gotten to the part of making lists of what item goes to whom, as many cases of item reimbursement take place in raid groups and several people might have to be contacted or have items mailed to them.

Let's take an estimation that the average reimbursal takes a total amount of 2 hours of work. If there are 10 requests a day, thats 20 hours of work for 1 GM.

They receive a lot more than 10 requests a day. I mean, a lot.

I know it's a pain to wait, but the demand of such a service is large and everybody wants to get through at once.
