Today Blizzard has announced that they will be releasing a new server on tuesday of next week called Siege Perilous. On this server players will be able to speak across faction, group across faction and kill anybody, anywhere, regardless of faction. Upon death, players lose all of their gold in their inventory, receive a 10% durability loss, and receive a 10 minute debuff called "Resurrection Sickness" that slows the player's movement by 5%, reduces healing done by the player, damage done by the player, and healing received by the player by 20%. Banks now have the added feature of storing a player's gold. All instances are no longer instances but real world dungeons. The honor system will be completely abolished. Instead, to earn items through PvP, kills obtained in the zones of the ex-instanced battlegrounds will count towards your reputation with that specific faction. Current honor gear will be ported to be reputation reward gear.
Outside of the now non-instanced zones of Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin, and Warsong Gulch, if a player kills another player then they receive a dishonorable kill. When a player accumulates 10 dishonorable kills then the only NPC's that the player can interact with, and the only guards that the player won't be attacked by, are Steemweedle Cartel and Booty Bay factions. However, if you kill somebody in self-defense (attacker turns criminal when attacking you), you will not gain a dishonorable kill. Killing someone who has more than 10 dishonorable kills will also not yield you a dishonorable kill. If a player has less than 10 dishonorable kills, and obtains a dishonorable kill while still being under 10, then the player is flagged criminal for an hour and can be killed by anybody without the killer obtaining a dishonorable kill.
