Subject: "The developers are happy with......"
Could the community managers please stop using this line when explaining why "game issue x" will or will not be changed? It's essentially analogous to saying "because we said so, that's why."

Despite some posting behaviors, players do possess reasoning skills that devoloped beyond a 1st grade level.

If the purpose of this forum and CM's direct, daily community interaction is to have fruitful discussion about current and future issues of the game then having proper reasoning and logical approach to discussions is required on both ends. "Because we say so" lacks civility and respect for your customers.

There are some aspects of the game that designers are happy to gain player feedback about. But there are some aspects which are not currently open for change. That doesn't mean we don't consider proposals, as we always consider proposals.

Q u o t e:
At least 50% of the vocal players have issues with the game, I think that's a pretty conservative figure.
if you people think that 99.9% of people are 100% happy with this game then you are the ones pulling numbers out of your asses.

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that your figure is true and 50% of the players have some issue with the game.

That 50% is not entirely in agreement. In fact, a good portion of them will be diametrically opposed in their beliefs. Group A wants X to be nerfed, and they have valid reasons for feeling that way. Group B wants X to be buffed, and they also have valid, logical reasons presented. Who is right? Who gets catered to?

In the end, it is in the best interest of both the developers and the players to make changes to the game in accordance with what is best in terms of balance as a whole. Sometimes, this is along the lines of what players are after. Sometimes it isn't. I understand that can be frustrating from a player standpoint; I've been where you are.

But at the same time, we're not going to make changes that are not in the best interest of the game, regardless of how many people want it to take place.
